Hotel Veniz Session vs. Hotel Veniz Burnham: Which is Better?

Queen sized bed. Wala naman pinagkaiba with Hotel Veniz Burnham.
Suprise! Surprise! I am back! Saan pa nga ba? Eh di Baguio ulit mga besh. Nakailang balik na nga ulit ako dito? Ha ha. Di nakakasawa. I am back dahil I need to do my shopping spree. Gift giving tayo this Christmas. Hindi man ganun kadami ang natatanggap na gift pero that's not the reason not to give. Besides I still consider myself blessed. Hindi tayo pinapabayaan ni Lord.

Itong lakad na 'to is just part of a bigger plan. Out-of-town party sana kami with officemates sa Sagada and Atok, Benguet. Ang hirap planuhin kasi kelangan magpareserve for accomodations and transportation ahead of time tapos andaming pabago-bago ng isip.. Kaya the big boss decided not to pursue with the plan... nakakahiya dun sa napareserve. May tawaran pa namang nangyari.

Tagal ko ng gustong makapunta ng Sagada and Atok. This is the second time na nagplano ng trip to Sagada pero hindi natuloy. The first was way back in college pa. Hindi ako natuloy nun because the night before our trip, tumawag ang instructor namin requiring us to submit the course project due the day after. Nakakainis! Ako lang ang hindi nakapunta sa barkada.

Anyway, my plan was to stay a couple of days in Baguio after our Sagada and Atok getaway. Nakapagpa-reserve na ako sa hotel kaya tumuloy pa rin ako. I booked a two-night reservation at Hotel Veniz - Session. Sayang yung one night dahil di ako nakapunta due to an emergency.

I chose Hotel Veniz Session... Una, because of its location. Wala talagang makakatalo sa location. It's near every tourist spot you'd like to visit when you're in Baguio. Second, this is the best option during the time na nag-book ako. Availability of rooms and cheaper compared to other hotels. Lastly, I wanted to compare it with the one in Burnham.

The desk with all the complimentary coffee and cookies and some food kapag tinamad lumabas. The fridge is inside that desk compartment. Ang hirap i-open and close.

Very clean CR.

I like the rain shower! I'm glad gumagana yung heater.

That was my view from the window. The room is located on the backside part of the building. Kita ang night market along the busy street of Harrison Road. Sobrang ingay lang!

...and that's my view at daytime kitang-kita na ang Melvin Jones Football Ground.

McDonalds for breakfast anyone? I had to wait for an hour just to have this. Ang haba ng pila besh!

This is in comparison with Hotel Veniz Burnham [Read: First Booking: Hotel Veniz Burnham]:

What I liked...

  • They got better location.
  • Since it's newly constructed, hindi pa worn out mga tiles and paint.
  • I like the rain shower at hindi sira ang heater.
  • Maayos at gumagana ang aircon.
  • Better WiFi connection pero nagla-lag paminsan-minsan.

What I didn't like...

  • Wala akong nakitang pogi! Cheret! (Inuna talaga?) Just kidding!
  • Lack of signage. Ang alam ko lang kasi basta sa taas ng McDonalds Session. Pagpasok ko ng building, walang signage kung anong floor ako pupunta. I had to ask the guard pa.
  • Maingay. The room given to me was at the back of the building overlooking Melvin Jones. Dinig ko ang mga nagka-Karaoke nights and music coming from various establishments at the back of the hotel and yung mga sasakyan.
  • Breakfast. No problem about the food. Keri na din ang McDo. It's just that, It took me almost an hour bago nakakain. That one hour includes the time na nakipila ako sa counter, plus the waiting time for my order to be prepared. Nakakaloka! Sakit sa paa teh!

In spite the new amenities and better location of the newly built Hotel Veniz Session, maybe there is still a part of me craving for the old Baguio vibe and I felt that when I was in the old hotel. Overall, I still prefer the old Hotel Veniz, the one near Burnham Park. I just felt more at home in when I spent a night there.

I checked out at noon. Syempre lakad-lakad along Session Road expecting na merong pet shop. The upward lane along Session is closed every Sunday. Iba-iba yata ang pa-ganap. That Sunday afternoon, may K-Pop convention sponsored by Globe. There were a lot of booth selling diffferent K-Pop stuff. Natuwa naman ako kahit papano. I wanted to try the food kaso sobrang nabusog ako sa breakfast. (Yes. Kinain ko po lahat yun! Ha ha) Still a happy kid here!

Ang ganda ng Session Road but this heartthrob grabbed my attention.

Cute babies roaming around Session Road. Ang saya!

Main priority ko syempre ang christmas costumes ng babies ko. I found a pet shop sa top floor ng SM near SM Cinema. One stop pet shop na siya where everything from grooming services, to food, to pet clothes, you'll find it there. I bought the Santa costumes for my babies. I didn't quite get the name of the shop. I think it's Baguio Pet Habitat.

How I wish I can buy this santa costumes from H&M. Mahalya beshie!

Cute santa costumes for my Chingu and Yana!

It was tiring yet fulfilling day. I was able to buy gifts for everyone in the family. I'm glad I went to Girbaud. They have this buy one take one promo in almost all their items, except siguro the new arrivals kaya sobrang nakatipid. I've known Girbaud to have good quality products lalo na yung bags and wallets nila.

Nagtitipid beshie! Ha ha. Buy 1 take 1 promo sa Girbaud.

Haay! It's the Holiday Season and soon we're bidding goodbye to the year 2019. May you feel the warmth of your family's love. We wish you a glittery, sparkly, joyous Christmas!

...and may peace and hope fill your life throughout the year! Let's welcome the year 2020 with a grateful heart! Cheers!

From me, and three of my furbabies: Chingu, Yana, and Mayumi!
